Whatcha’ Reading – October 2022

Over the past month, I finished the Mary Stone series for Stella Knox with Killer Spirit. Now I’m like anyone else, waiting for her to add another book to this series. The series, overall, has been getting better with each book.

I read a couple of library books and some non-fiction. I don’t read a lot of non-fiction, but when I do, I generally read books that will improve my writing. This month I took the time to read a book my former editor wrote on self-editing, which I found very helpful. If you’re a fiction writer (really for any story-related writing), I strongly recommend picking up Alyssa Archer’s book on editing, Revision Time: How to Edit Your Novel. I also took a class on plotting this past month, which was good, by Troy Lambert.

Mr. Jackson doesn’t like reading much, but he loves audiobooks, so we started a book by Fredrik Backman called A Man Called Ove, which so far is very good. We’re also still reading through a book by William Kent Krueger, This Tender Land.

He Is Coming for You by Willow Rose. Really like her style of writing and storytelling. She is from Denmark but think she now lives in New York. This is the 2nd series j I have read of hers.
